Our Approach breaks down our work into three clear steps: frame the question, narrow the scope, and deliver results transparently. But what happens inside that first step, framing, is where the real rigor takes place. It is in this stage that a finding either stands solid or quietly falls apart long before it ever hits a presentation slide.
Our method is not complicated. Instead of simply asking “Is this legal?” and stopping once the answer is yes, we test each finding against multiple dimensions all at once. These include: what the law genuinely requires;
- whether the finding aligns with the organisation’s own stated values;
- its ethical soundness on principled grounds;
- the reputational impact if it went public tomorrow; and
- the financial cost of doing things the right way.
We call this approach the compass; balancing legal, identity, moral, reputational, and economic perspectives side by side rather than one after another.
The true value lies not in any single dimension but in the tensions between them. When the legally safest answer pulls in a different direction from what the organisation claims to stand for, that is where the real judgement call lives, where ethics meet practical reality.
Finally, before we finalise any conclusion, we ask a tough question: Would we feel comfortable explaining this reasoning face to face with everyone affected, not just the client who asked for it?
This commitment now sits alongside the other pillars outlined on our Approach page. It is not the headline we lead with during a pitch, but it is the standard that truly determines whether a finding carries our name.
